About the National Institute of Allied Arts ...

Allied Arts is a non-profit organisation staffed by volunteers and run by a committee of volunteers. It was established in 1913 and aims to build up knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the arts offering an opportunity for people of all age groups, races and cultures to participate and perform in the fields of art, music, speech and drama and the written word.

NIAA organises four festivals every year:
• Vocal and Instrumental Festival - March
• Speech and Drama Festival – May/June
• Visual Arts Festival – July
• Literary Festival – July

The income is generated from charging entry fees to participants and from the sale of programmes and tickets for the public to attend performing festivals but relies mostly on sponsorship.
